Imeem, Seeqpod, Project Playlist etc

Thai Buffet

Dream

I'm very sure I don't feel anything special toward him but recently this person keeps appearing in my dreams. That interests me to a certain point. As the Chinese says what you think/miss during the day, you'd dream about it at night How if I don't think? Can anyone, especially those psychologists, or who knows a bit about oneirology give me some possible answers?

The thing is I don't normally remember any of my dreams, and most of the time when people sharing their dreams excitedly, no matter it's a horror, happy or strange one, I would be thinking why I never be able to remember any, although sometimes I might recall a bit, which "happen" right before I wake up. This makes me think of deja vu, or a more scientific term - Extra Sensory Perception- like a scene, a chat, a person, whatever la, something that seems sooo familiar happen exactly as "last time", but you know it hasn't happened in "reality"... interesting, isn't it?

And I have a good old friend, who quite oftenly, leaves me offline messages on MSN, telling me she dreams about me again, over and over again. Previously, she even said that I appeared in her dreams 3-4 days continuously.. I didn't see that could be annoying, but amusingly promised her I'd try my best not visiting her too often in her dream. And, sometimes when there were several who told me they dreamt about me, I'd 'assumed' that's the reason I didn't get good sleep because I kept 'visiting' so many of my friends at night - trying to be funny only la k -_-"

But now I can see that it could be annoying. Because that's a strange feeling, that person means nothing too much than a friend / good friend, why must be him that keep coming to my dream? What affect whether or not I can remember? What do you think?

P.S. the dream here doesn't refer to that type like Martin Luther's : D

Birmingham Short Trip

Updated: Photos of what I've bought

Went to Birmingham with Bpeng, Stephy and Sammi today
and had DimSum there!!
Well, it's obviously not as nice as those we normally have in m'sia,
but it's still good enough to make me satisfied :) :)
Initially, this was supposed to be a food trip,
which we planned to eat dimsum- shop for food- eat asam laksa,
but ended up...
eat dimsum- shop for clothes- spent most of our time in Zara- shop for food- dabao egg tart
thank you Sammi for treating us and our housemates the egg tart
I bought a black ski jacket in Zara, it costs me only £10!
thanks to Bpeng for picking it..

and got another funnel shape check white coat from Jane Norman, nice nice..
love it very much.

The sale that you will never find in Malaysia, it was originally £90 but I bought it with £26+

And these as well...

Supposed we should get ourselves some red colour clothes for Chinese New Year
but all of us failed =/
Anyway, I can feel quite much of CNY now.. from My Fm (to listen), from people around me, from msn, and I'm going to make some fishes and other decorations with bpeng's red packets
One last thing: stop asking me whether I'm going back for CNY and why not..
I'm NOT, we have no holiday at all... but I'll try my best to make it happen next year : )

Cheltenham

I've been staying in this town for more than two years. Initially the impression that it gave me was boring, boring, and boring. Right, for sure, for 19 years, I lived in a place that have huge shopping centres open till at least 10pm, after that you can visit mamak, and there is night market packed with people. I spent six years in an independent school and had long hours lectures and awful lots of activities after class and during holidays. So, how on earth is it possible for a people like me to like a so damn boring place like this?

And yet, I like it so much now. I guess my mind, my habits are 'aging'.. Because it's a place with lots of elderly, and we heard it received some kind of award that referring it as the most suitable for those retirees before we came. Now I like its slow motions, I like its peacefulness, I like the tranquility, I like those friendly old ladies who talk to you so randomly, and somewhat like it snowing so randomly...

Haih.. strange right? I wonder whether I can get used to new environment if it's going to busy and fast? Because I'm thinking to get a job here, here in the uk, not at cheltenham, as I can see Cheltenham is just a small place, which doesnt provide good working opportunity. But I don't feel like leaving here, yet... I want to explore other cities in the UK, to help me reconfirm that this really isn't a country that I'd like.. lol. In some terms, I guess Cheltenham is already one of the best - the conclusion when we visited Manchester.

Eh? so why am I writing about Cheltenham Spa (in which I don't even know how it got the name SPA?)? Because I saw the Facebook group saying that Cheltonians are those ridiculously good looking people. Eh.. I've been wondering why I didn't see those good looking ang mo (Caucasion) that we normally see from media since I came here (all I can see is just how serious their health problem caused by obesity). I even wonder whether I should conclude that those really-good-looking are all on tv, the rest.. hmm.. ahem.. Previously I thought it may be due to the place I'm in, it may be better in other places, but.. hmm.. obviously it is not, since those Cheltonians think they are ridiculously good looking!

Anyway, despite the ok-looking people, it's still a nice place to live in, to learn more about older England, to interact more with the British. And, at least, apart from the retirees, it's also a very ideal place for studying... : P

Obamamania

He's now everywhere...
Obama in Kenya
Obama Russian Dolls
Obama Masks
Barber shop named "Barack Obama Haircut"

There was a time when a US president could travel from his inauguration in an open-top car.

John F Kennedy was the last president to do that.

BBC: High Security for Obama's inauguration

It's tomorrow, the inauguration of Barack Obama, the first African-American President..
Let's pray that everything will be alright, for the one who may change the world, even if he doesn't, at least, he brings people hopes.. : D

Recently...

Just realized I haven't written much new entry recently
my blog has been so dead : (
and even if I do, most of them are just some sharing posts
so let me write a bit about my recent life..

It's nearly the end of the 2nd week of the final semester of my degree
I still haven't really accepted this =/
3 years sound far too fast for me, feel like I haven't really got into my Uni life, then it's ending soon!
I don't even feel like doing my dissertation yet.. haih..
Actually I feel like studying few more years (but don't want to spend my parents $$ to study anymore.. So guess I'm going to work for 1-2 year first :) )
There are only 2 days, 3 lectures a week..! (plus 2 days at work) till March,
then few weeks off for easter break, revision week, final till mid May..
Supposed it sounds really early that I will be graduated by then,
but that day checked the website and ... wtf ...
our convo. is on Dec 19th/20th -_-"
it's such a looonnnggg gap.. and I'm still unsure whether I'm going back to m'sia during the gap
will see..

And, Chinese New Year is approaching.. it's the 4th CNY I'm not celebrating at home
I miss it very, very, very much!
Have been listening to myfm online recently, to get some CNY feel
Although I know I used to feel "nothing" about CNY,
like.. it was just a very usual festival in the year..
but missing it for 4 times, 4 years are too much.. can't bear it :( :(
even my grandma has forgotten me, she didn't give my angpau to my mum last year!
(normally she would pass it to my mum if any of us wasn't available to visit her)
So I guess generally I'll be quite depressed recently.. (be careful k, those around me : P)
Last year I used the red packets to make some decorations..
and they were still hung now.. LOL.. so what to do this year??
hmmm.. hmmm.. any plan for CNY eve and day? =/
Oppps ya..!! few of us are going to Birmingham to eat DimSum next week :) :)
and shop for some oriental food as well..
Better than nothing la right...
Anyway, for those celebrating it at home,
please do appreciate..

Working opportunity

I don't really know how it is like to be working 9-5 daily
but I guess that's what most people do
Have a high school friend who just worked for 3 months
and he started to feel kind of bored and sick of working life,
like hmmm... think that he works because he simply ought to..
I'm not going to comment about people who don't like working
because I don't think I'm eligible to do so..
perhaps when I start full time work I can't even stand for one month? : P

But this morning I saw a news.. and guess what..
in Seoul there is a Ph.D candidate who competes with another 62 koreans for 5 job positions
among them there are 11 people who at least hold a degree/diploma..
you must be thinking, those must be jobs of specialised field...
NO!!! They are 5 vacancy of STREET CLEANER!!
ok, please, please note that I don't despise or hold any prejudice against street cleaners
(in fact I kind of respect them...)
but, think about it, or imagine that you were the Ph.D candidate..
s/he has spent more than half of his/her life studying and end up competing for a street cleaner vacancy which apparently doesn't require those knowlegde that s/he has acquired.. how desperate s/he wants a job..!! just a job, whatever it is..
You know, I can't imagine that.. is the economy that bad now?
(indeed.. the UK has been facing its worst economic crisis in 60 years)
Do those who have been grousing about their works now feel (at least a bit) grateful?
I mean, at least most of you get the job that you want,
get the job that's related to your degree/studies, or get the job that you're interested in..
yes sometimes life sucks.. I can't stand waking up really early every Saturday to work also..
but ... hmmm.. life could be worse, especially when the economic crisis hit like now, all we can do is just to sort things out, to make life better by trying hard..
anyway, whatever la, all I want to say, is ..
be grateful and appreciate what you've got kkk...: )

Show

XD
hmm..

"Interesting"

BBC: Millions to get weather pay-outs

Millions of pensioners and vulnerable people around the UK have become eligible for cold weather payments.

The £25-a-week assistance is triggered when an area's average temperature falls or is forecast to fall to 0C or below for seven consecutive days.

Forecasts for the London area mean 600,000 people are eligible for fuel help for the first time in a decade.

As the Arctic snap continues to bite, the freeze has restricted water supplies in Rhondda Fach, South Wales.

Welsh Water apologised, saying the freezing conditions had "severely restricted" supplies feeding a local treatment works. There would be occasional loss of supply or discoloured water, but it was safe to drink, they said.

Tankers were bringing water in to the area, bowsers would be put in "key locations" and bottled water distributed to customers with special needs and mothers with young babies, added the firm.

Pensioner warning

Forecasters say temperatures will stay below zero in many parts of the UK.

Lows of -8C (17.6F) have been forecast for much of southern England and Wales, with temperatures dropping to -10C in rural Hampshire and Surrey overnight.

The mercury dropped to -11C in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, and in Shap, Cumbria, on Monday night.

The £15m for Londoners means weather payments have topped £100m this winter.

Charities have warned that the elderly and sick urgently need financial help with heating bills to prevent avoidable deaths.

Britain's biggest pensioner group - the National Pensioners Convention - said 12 pensioners could die every hour during the cold snap.

'Extra help'

On Tuesday, the Department for Work and Pensions said cold weather payments had now been triggered at 52 weather stations around the UK since the start of this winter.

With freezing conditions sweeping across the UK, payments are being made from Aviemore in Scotland to Bedford in southern England.

The payment, which goes to people in receipt of certain benefits - mainly pensioners, severely disabled people and families with a young or severely disabled child - rose this year from £8.50 to £25-a-week for each spell of cold weather.

It is paid automatically to those who qualify, including the estimated 2.7m households in receipt of pension credit.

Work and Pensions Secretary James Purnell said: "We don't want people to worry about turning up their heating when it's cold.

"That is why we've trebled the cold weather payment to £25, to put money in the pockets of the people who need it most.

"Millions of vulnerable people and pensioners are now in line for this extra help after the recent cold snap."

Winter deaths

The increased cold weather payments are one part of a package of measures announced by the government this winter.

This year's Christmas bonus for pensioners and disabled people, which will be paid between January and March, has increased from £10 to £70.

And an extra £575m has been spent on winter fuel payments, with £250 for those in households with someone aged 60 or over, and £400 for those with someone aged 80 plus.

Meanwhile, Help the Aged has warned that the death rate rises by 1% to 2% for every temperature drop of 1C.

Older people and those weakened by illness are particularly susceptible to cold-related illness and death.

The Office for National Statistics said that from December 2007 to March 2008 there were an extra 25,300 deaths in England and Wales compared with the average for non-winter months - a 7% increase on the previous year's figure.

However, the figure was still some way short of the increase in deaths seen in the winters of the late 1990s when totals hit nearly 50,000 as flu swept Britain.

'Suffer needlessly'

The National Pensioners Convention has called on the government to double the winter fuel allowance.

NPC general secretary Joe Harris said: "Up to three million pensioner households are currently spending more than 10% of their income on fuel bills and are living in fuel poverty.

"Energy efficiency schemes won't help them pay their bills this month and neither will they prevent tens of thousands of pensioners dying from the cold this winter."

Macmillan Cancer Support is also calling on the government to extend the payments to those with cancer.

Chief executive Ciaran Devane said: "Cancer patients of all ages continue to suffer needlessly because of this dreadfully cold weather.

"They tell us they feel the cold more because of treatment and have to spend more time at home. And throughout this, their fuel bills soar whilst their household income has dropped."

OK. I know it is inappropriate to use the word "interesting" but I grew in equatorial climate.. And, you know, these days, everyone, yes everyone around me, is being sooo damn excited with the snow, I could see loads of pictures uploaded on facebook, either foreigners like us or locals, and many blogged about it..

Masterpiece of Peiman & Felicia.. A bit ugly though : P

Although I was aware how inconvenient it can be to live in a country which snows a lot (during my Austria trip), but I never thought about how much troubles it has brought to those vulnerables.. and, wow, it's really 'sweet' that the government is actually trying to pay for their fuel bills.. (it seems a bit strange to say your government sweet, perhaps, caring? ok, maybe they just have to..)

Apart from that, people rely very much on weather forecast (which isn't very accurate sometimes apparently- the snow this time wasn't on BBC weather forecast); and the road could be very slippery after it snows; they may need to "dig" their vehicle out in the morning from the deep snow for those who drive; and I even heard from myfm that there are "specialistic" tyres for snow (which means they need to change the tyres according to the season?)..etc etc

Anyway, I still love snow.. I'm just.. not feeling very good as we're so excited with it while some people are actually suffering.. hehe.. and, I found it quite interesting, to learn about all these, which apparently are general knowledge for them, but absolutely new for me.. : )

A priest

Why would a priest be a priest?

I'm not sure about what a priest does everyday, but that day I watched the movie "The Confessor" (or "The Good Shepherd", it received quite some criticisms despite its interesting story line), which made me wonder that =/ Initially the movie caught my attention as the description said "A must-see for anyone interested in firm noir and psychological mysteries." And it made me think about some.. very religious thingy which seldom comes into my mind. I'd say I come from a Buddhist family, as my grandpa was a Buddhist but the rest of my family, none of them looks like a Buddhist ... So most of the time I say myself a free-thinker, but to avoid troubles in some cases, I'd say I'm a Buddhist then. I hope no offend taken on what I blog about today, as I don't really know much about religions, just want to write down what the movie has made me thought about.

Thomas Andrew, a priest, was accused of murder, and he decided to sacrifice his life rather than violate the principles he believes in. What the principles mean here, is that people don't confess to him, but they confess to God through him, so whatever he knew from the confession, he couldn't be telling anyone else, and thus to conform to the rule of confidentiality (rather than to protect the murderer), he would rather be accused as the murderer.

Interesting, isn't it? I'm not sure whether there are priests like him in real life, or can all the priest do what he did? I mean, they are all human, like you, like me, how would people have such pure and unselfish mind, to work as a priest? To be authorize to administer religious rites, to listen to confessions, to devote his/her whole life to the church/god/believers? How would a person develop to become a priest? Like, how his environment of growing up, his friends, his daily activities, his attitudes toward religion, marriage and strangers... For most people, I guess people around them and themselves always come first, but how about priests? Do they disregard their own welfare and advantage over those of others all the time? especially when "those of others" are just some strangers or some not very close friends?

Resolutions 'bad for your health'

Deciding to turn over a new leaf in the new year could do more harm than good, a mental health charity has warned.

Mind has urged people not to feel they must start 2009 armed with resolutions for self-improvement.

The charity said resolutions which focus on issues such as the need to lose weight or job worries create a negative self-image.

And if the plans fail to materialise, that could trigger feelings of failure and inadequacy, the charity said.

Mind chief executive Paul Farmer said focussing on problems or insecurities can lead to feelings of hopelessness, low self-esteem and even mild depression.

"We chastise ourselves for our perceived shortcomings and set unrealistic goals to change our behaviour, so it's not surprising that when we fail to keep resolutions, we end up feeling worse than when we started," he said.

"In 2009, instead of making a New Year's resolution, think positively about the year to come and what you can achieve."

Source : BBC News

Ridiculous, isn't it?
They are asking people not to have new year resolution as people will probably not achieving it and end up feeling failure, hopeless and depressed!
OK. I know they mean some unrealistic resolutions la,
but this is still unreasonable ma!
People should know to judge what they could and couldn't reach
and by saying resolutions, of course it means something accomplishable, although most of the time hard work and perseverance needed.. right?

Shopping day

Went shopping today, for the last available Saturday that I have, probably until exam period, and guess what I've got that made me kind of excited!!
It's not those Republic clothes that I've got.. But..
a 50p coin!!!

You might ask what's so special about it..
it's the 2008 version, one of the Royal Shield coin set that I've been trying to collect
and with it, now I've got the whole shield..!!!

From left to right, top to bottom,
there are pound coin, 10p, 2p, 1p, 5p, 20p, 50p..
Can you see the Royal Shield? (note: picture is from web as I'm lazy to take it myself)
You'd have to make some virtual point in your mind..
exclude the pound coin (I havent got this one =/), the rest form a shield shape..
nice right?
Unfortunately the time when I manage to do this it's already 2009! :( :(
Should have done more shopping.. hahaha..

I like saturday's high street
there are lots performers and sometimes you get to see some traditional suits or hear some nice little live concerts..
very lively, unlike the nights here...
It was also crowded today, but what made me feel different,
was when I saw there are quite a few shops closing down (the Work, Card warehouse etc) and some had already closed down (Woolworth)... :( :(
Experts predicted there are going to be at least 600,000 job cuts here in the UK during the year 2009
*sigh* Can you imagine that?

Human Trafficking (2005)

Every day young girls are bought and sold...

It was originally a mini-series and then in the year of 2006, DVD was released, starred Mira Sorvino, Donald Sutherland and Rémy Girard, talking about women being trafficked all around the world (and thus scenes were set in quite a few cities like Prague, New York, Manila etc) and acts taken to stop the organization from trafficking people...

For me I love this kind factual based movies, especially we don't get to see this on media often, while in fact things are just happening all around the world, although watching the whole 2 hour 40 minutes DVD sounds too long to me. I'd not want to compare and say how lucky we are, but I learnt that there is so much to do to make the world better, and, every little helps (Oops! Tesco's slogan XD).

It's very strange sometimes, to think about this, from the female perspective, that feminist has been there for decades, that in general, I'd say things are fair enough for many of us, that I could scarcely think of any gender discrimination or prejudice in my life (apart from some silly jokes). But human trafficking is still out there, women could be treated like trade objects and sexual objects... and guess what, I'm reading A thousand Splendid Suns (from the author of the kite runner - Khaled Hosseini), besides those modern slavery, I see women and children are still victims of domestic violence, and many of them are living under very inapprehensible rules... Why? For me it doesn't matter if those rules are not understandable as long as they themselves accept the rules and live happily under it, but how if they don't, is there anything they can do?

I mean, I don't think there would be completely genuine equality, especially when it comes to gender equality, because people have been born differently, at times she is better at others he is better, I don't even see any need to be equal in many cases. If you get what I mean, like he was born better in directions, so he reads the maps; she was born better in nurturing, so she rears the kids (just examples..). But, just due to the slight weaker physical body that women have (and some other variables that come with or after it), how much have they been suffering? And this can't be changed fundamentally, it seems all that can be done, other than cognizance of human itself, is through law, the so-called justice system.. But but but.. you and me know how many illegal activities carrying through and how many legal actions can be taken... [out of topic]

Back to the movie, I'd say it's worth spending the time, if you want your view widen on a world's reality... : )

Happy 2009

Spending the first day of the year the way I want at home, kind of contented as this indicates a good start for me : )
Guess I'm not going to write any to-do list for the year of 2009
as I don't normally do that
(even if I do, I wonder whether I'd remember and follow up : P)
But I did think about how my life should be, can be, and will be after I graduate at May..
Hmmm.. I'll try to do a rough plan
And.. the above is the London eye fireworks on New Year's day 2009
I never knew that the Big Ben has been there for 150 years!!
It's celebrating its 150th birthday this year..!!
Like it quite much, more than the London Eye at least, especially when there was firework display (the beginning few seconds part, with the clock's chimming, awesome!)
although I feel those firework displays at the cities all around the world were really kind of polluting =/
Anyway, all the best for everyone this year

If I'm granted a wish, I'd hope for health, for everyone whom I love and who loves me, and myself

Disgusted

Despise those who never respect their friends and instead, use lots of lies and hypocritical acts to treat their so-called old friend.

Despise those people, who when in need, wants your comfort, love, help, care; when they don't, treat you like shit!!

Despise those who set themselves as the centre of their lives, and want others to revolve around them and act in accordance with them! Who do they think they are?

That's not how friends should be.

P.S. I'm not involved directly in the whole incidents.. Just feel like grumbling, and.. that's it! : )

Simplicity

Just had steamboat at Sammi's house with our housemates. Guess I've been enjoying my life quite much after coming back from my skiing trip, and realized you will see life's treating you good easily when you are free from stress and long hour work.. Shopping, dining, chatting, reading fictions, listening songs, watching tv together (and criticizing this and that lol) etc etc.. Although I guess my superego starts reminding me that there's only one week left and I've one research report that I haven't even touched.. And my dissertation (which is still 0/10000 words)! There comes the stress.. and.. enjoyable life is saying goodbye soon, perhaps till end of May.. :( :(

These days, apart from shopping and dinners etc, I found myself really, really enjoy lying there, playing songs, and reading book. This was what I used to enjoy very much back in Malaysia and I abandon the habit soon after I came here. It's indeed much more spiritualize, instead of watching dramas, dramas and more dramas (I still love TVB though : D). I need more time on my own for the rest of the holiday I guess, and without any hesitation decided not joining them to the New Year countdown in London.. Hope they will make lots fun and enjoy to the fullest, hmm and ya, how am I going to countdown myself if Bpeng is joining them? Good question, will think about it : P

Crystal Ski

A few words about the travel agent of our skiing trip - crystal ski as I think they really should receive credits for their service...

Booking online at http://www.crystalski.co.uk and each of us got £50 off

A little book sent to us soon after we booked and paid for the holiday. It contains nearly everything we need to know, from passports & visas, money matters, flight details to driving abroad, insurance & medical matters.. and even things like luggage labels are provided in the book!!

A Welcome Pack with lots of information helping us get started when we arrived.

A Welcome Meeting to provide further information and to answer queries if there is any
(They had the meeting at the 2nd day after our arrival, which as I mentioned in the travel diary, could be better if we had it at the first day so we could get to know everything and sort everything out initially)

Organizing events throughout the week, and more importantly, they stated the cost clearly..

Visits during the week to see whether we're doing good and if they missed us...

(if you've paid a bit attention you might see that the title was "Mr. Teh and family".. My dad or bro wasn't there, don't know who they're greeting? : P and the address of "family" made me realize all those that going to the trip with us are all families!! we're probably the only group of friends.. so it's still.. forgivable calling us "Mr. Teh and family".. : D)

Clear details given..

If you're an advanced skier, they planned a very enjoyable yet challenging skiing day for you, entitled "An Unforgettable Day"..
However, if you're a novice like me, you could at least use the papers to write diary or record your expenses.. XD

I'd say generally they've made our trip nothing much to complain about.. will recommend it before I experience any other better..

Happy Christmas!!

It's Christmas day and I'm going to spend it at home : (
supposed to be going to church this morning,
but the warm bed was so tempting that I decided to spend more time with it XD
Then this afternoon Jeff and me should be paying a visit to Jon Travers and family, and have a christmas meal with them
but don't know why so suey,
one of their family has small stoke and is now in hospital,
so (being really kind and lovely) they decided to postpone the meal to this Sunday
it's actually kind of relief for me too, because I was so sick yesterday
and I prefer to be healthy and good when I see them .. haha
still looking forward to it,
just wondering whether the flower we bought for them can last so long or not

The flower that costs only £5 with little bell on it..

Yesterday we had a Christmas dinner and got the present from Secret Santa
my secret santa is Marvin and I've got Twister from him
Thank youuu : )
(it's actually not that pek cek to receive present like this la okkk XD)

My Christmas present, from secret santa Marvin

I bought Jocelyn a book - White Tiger by Aravind Adiga, who won the Man Booker Prize 2008 with his first novel!
I suppose that's the kind of book she likes
hope that's a really nice book la, because I chose it finally among a few other books and things like spa soap, music box...
There were many other "interesting" presents, like Milo, packs of tissue, instant noodles etc

Anyway, Happy Christmas!! Hope everyone is having a good one.. : )

Austria Kitzbuhel Skiing Trip - Diary

Date: 2008.12.13- 2008.12.20
Location: Kitzbuhel, Austria
Accommodation: Hotel Hofer
Type: Skiing + Salzburg city visiting
Travellers: H. Teh, J. Chong, W. Chin, S. Lim, B. Lau, S. Lim
Cost: appoximately £600

13th Dec
Leaving Cheltenham in the early morning and the bus was delayed but luckily we were still able to catch the flight. Surprisingly there was in flight meals and it was good! We arrived in Salzburg Airport after 2 hour flight and met the Crystal Ski reps immediately. Got our stuff settled and went to the hotel by coach, which took us 1 hour and 15 mins. On the way, we realized that the lift pass was not included in the price (in which initially we thought the pay of £380 has already included everything!), and that could cost €143.50 for 5 days (but we didn't get it). That did spoil my holiday mood quite a bit. Anyways, the hotel looks good and the dinner was a 3-course meal!! Suprisingly, we were going to have 3-course dinner every night and we could choose the starter, main course and dessert from a few options! But initially we thought it costs to order drinks so we decided to get just skyjuice (But the next day a kind lady from the next table told us the wine was free, and in fact all the drinks were free). We all went out for a walk after the dinner, the lightings were really good, and you could see snow around... although it wasn't snowing... But we could always pick some snow and make the effect ourselves.. couldn't we? : P

14th Dec - Sunny
The breakfast was kind of plentiful - various kinds of cereal, milks, home made smoothies, juices, yoghurt, various types of bread, croissants, fruits, nutella/butter/honey etc, boiled eggs, wafer, hot options- beans, mushrooms, fried/scrambled eggs, hash browns, saussage, bacon (all served as buffet other than the hot options). First day of our skiing lessons, we went to get our skiing equipments- boots, pools and the skis at the Intersport shop (the 1 week locker to keep all our skiing stuff costs €19,20). Everyone couldn't really walk properly after wearing the ski boots, it's just like 打石膏 (encased in plaster).. in both legs! XD And the skis are really heavy! They were fit with our heights and weights. Next, we started our first lesson and met our coach- Hans Peter. The views at the hills were unbelievably beautiful!! It was a bit too sunny that I felt like I would have a heat stroke because we were all sweating and really thirsty.. -_-" (isn't it hilarious if you get heat stroke in the winter? haha..) and Kian's nose bled. Later we went up slighly higher of the hill with a rope and skiied down. It required a bit of skill to be brought by the rope too and I think Joce, Shinyee, Kian fell down by the rope, especially Shinyee had made a few of kids behind her fell with her, which is kind of funny view, you'd see a group of kids fell down together : P. I kept ski to the direction of the rope and crushed on others too but didnt cause any accident luckily.. haha. I realized skiing just wasn't that easy that I expected today but I did enjoy it very much although it's hard to control sometimes. In the afternoon, we attended the welcome meeting (This is no good afterall, we should have our welcome meeting at the first day of our trip ma...) and had afternoon tea. Got our 3 days lift passes as well (€91). Then we played cards and 见识了 Kian's cards washing machine. (kind of lebih la right? bringing the machine all the way to Austria.. : P) And I started to realize I came to this trip with 虚伪的一家人 (i.e. Jeff Kian Shinyee) because they're always pretending, no matter it's for good or not, later on in the trip we did realize it's indeed quite true. We played some games like bluff, big 2, 叫名字 (guess some of them played this game for the first time and we all enjoyed it quite much! hahaha...), 抽乌龟 etc after dinner. Those who lost had to eat half of a Rolo doughnut (you know the doughnuts were very nice one ley!! I don't know why we treated it as a punishment). Jeff ate 1.5 and Shinyee ate half if I'm not mistaken : P.

15th Dec - Sunny
Had the similar breakfast and still found it nice. Today we got the chance to get up to the mountain Hons by cable car (1650m). The views on the way were reallllllllly superb!!!!! seriously, they were all like fake ones, those on postcards or in pictures, and incredibly we saw them with our eyes!!! It makes us feel the trip is all worthwhile already! Then we tried the "seat" too, it's basically just seats with a few iron steaks but function like a cable car! A bit nervous before each of us get on it but we're all fine with it soon. A very nice experience for me. I feel everyone's improved a lot today, can control and turn ourselves (apart from Joce, don't know why la, she just kept going out of tracks.. ha, but she got better soon in the afternoon). It's really enjoyable. We learnt snow block to control the speed and also turning. Oh ya, and we like the magic carpet quite much, it's like those escalater in the airport, flat one, which could bring us up so that we wouldn't have to walk uphill (which is really energy and time consuming!). Then we moved to another side and they've got rope and a little plastic to bring us to the uphill. I was the third person to get on it and guess what, the first two infront of me (Bpeng and Joce) both fall. That scared me a bit but luckily the rest of us were all fine (although at the end everyone did fell at least once because of it and mine was kind of serious one XD). It's quite steep and it's really great to feel the speed, skiing on our own. Shinyee was skiing really speedily and made we all include the coach quite worried la.. Kian curi tulang, kept resting =/ whereas Jeff ski the most. Feel that everyone is really nice, reallly.. because whenever one of us fall, others will help whenever it is possible, or sometimes me (or any of us) can't wear the ski successfully, others will stop and offer a hand to either let me hold their shoulder or clean the snow under the boots for me.. Today I realized I've got really heartwarming travel friends. Appreciate that very much : ) I fell down twice today, both time also weren't skiing -_-" Legs were kind of pain at the end of the day, bruises and wound all around without any apparent reasons. We went for a walk at night, and were in search of the local christmas market but failed because it closed quite early (just like those in chel.). Walked around and spending lots time "watching" the shop windows, especially there was one interactive ice-skating decorate.. which caught our attractions everytime we passed by there.. lol (to see whether the fake persons skating in there fall down or not.. and of course, they didn't and will never fall.. XD)

16th Dec Sunny too!
The first bus was on 10a.m. so it was impossible to start the ski lesson at 9.30a.m., which was disappointing as we missed nearly 1 hour skiing time. Today we learnt the same things again but we skied at a more advanced hill. It's now more like skiing because we had a much longer distance to ski and practice our turns, to feel the speeds and also control it. Joce and Shinyee fell quite a few times and thus, they got the chance to eat ice kacang : P (by burying their face at the very soft snow). I fell down once and laying on the snow too. It was really, as Joce said, comfortable! but super damn difficult to stand back up la!! (actually those snow that we ski at, has already been 輾-ed so it's not that soft and easier to control for us..). Later we were down-graded and went back to the less advanced hill to ski. He didn't tell us why : ( : ( : ( Anyways, enjoyed the long distanced ski and the speed very much today; feel better with the ski boots today too but both legs bengkak : ( (Note: You shouldn't put any part of your skiing pants into your boots, they will hurt, I knew that from Kian after they hurt me for 2 days =/) Nice dinner, had salmon and apple tart, know what, the restaurant in the hotel made really good 饼皮, whatever pies, tarts, cakes they made, the 饼皮 is normally very delicious! We all chatted after dinner and got to know Shinyee better. Started by Kian (saying me and Joce have 躁郁症), we started keep saying 你有病.. and created many different kinds of diseases, 沾沾自喜病, 小队病, 一直讲人有病病 etc. LOL. And we started learning how Shinyee speaks in mandarin too.. 就日..可日... etc. Whenever we heard those, we focused on the words themselves and forgot what that person really said.. XD Apart from that, we have been saying "O..H", which is from Kian (after coming back, I found it difficult to change this habit edy =/). I wondered later whether Joce thinks we were all really childish la.. although she herself is quite childish also sometimes.. : P. After that we went to casino, (they allow people above 18 entering it) and they lost some euros, apart from Bpeng. For two nights I didn't have nice sleeps because... I think I can't really share a bedroom with others.. unless I get to sleep first.. Haha.. : P And, amusingly, some of us felt like we were skiing even when we're sleeping.. Is this the reason we all improving? XD

17th Dec foggy+snowing
We're getting a bit bored with the breakfast although I did try to make it more interesting and different in each day. It's reallllly foggy today and when we're on our way in the cable car, it's like we were all in heaven.. LOL, because we "crossed" the foggy layer and went above it, so basically we were unable to see anything down there and in the world of white. The views were reallllly superb. We practiced again at the more advanced hill and I guess everyone was better this time. After lunch (snicker bars for 5 of us and cereal bar for Joce everyday.. lol), we skiied down from the hill (the main hill we had been practicing all these days and normally we came down by the "seat")! Supposed to be enjoying because it's a longgg journey, but because of the super foggy views (visibility was something like 5 to 10 meters I guess) and some kept falling, it became a bit.. agitating. Then we practiced a while and another day lesson ended again. Time was really fast when we're skiing!! The afternoon tea today was flapjack, which was not nice.. at all. Too sticky and yet they don't stick together -_-". We played 积木 after that. Two rounds, Joce and Shinyee each lost once, they were supposed to eat the expired doughnuts (really a punishment this time) but didn't : P. Because the chef has every wednesdays off, 5 of us (jeff bpeng kian shinyee) went to a restaurant called "....", it was recommended by our rep Richard, although he never been to the restaurant, too -_-". The meals were good, a bit too salty though. The environment was good too, but the 檀香味很重 =/ As usual, we talked and made some fun, and this supposed to be 华语进步班 trip has become 华语退步班, especially due to Jeff and Kian XD. I was kind of happy because finally I met people who like to say "小明就哭了" like me : P (it was first created by Jacky Wu I think and I like to say it at home, ask Bpeng, she knows) Hahaha... It started snowing a little bit when we walked out from the restaurant, and getting heavier very slowly.. At night we settled money matters and play cards.

18th Dec snowing+damn cold
We skipped the skiing lesson today and joined a coach trip to Salzbury city (€33), which according to Jeff, is the 3rd most beautiful city in the world. Entered the Germany border on the way, too. Wow.. which means we all now have been to Germany as well.. hahaha! The Christmas market was really huge! and sell quality stuff. They had hot dog bread and Shinyee had tomato soup. We joined a one hour walking tour (which cost €8.50) around the city centre but I wasn't really paying attention.. Next, 5 of us (exclude Joce, she doesn't like musuem and wanted to walk around the Christmas market) visited the Salzburg Musuem, which costs only €4 for young people (under age of 26). It mainly focuses on Salzburg and Art, and it's kind of different from typical boring musuem, modern, interactive. But because we were running out of time, so didn't really look everything in details la.. It was snowing heavily and really cold!! We took some photos at the Mozart Circle before departing back to Kitzbuhel. Experienced the snow quite much today and like the feelings. But I don't think I'd like to stay in a city like that, because it's wet and slippery afterall, and could be quite inconvenient when you want to go out (just like raining la, but it's colder and comes in white colour... literally.. hahaha). Eh but, it's still important to stress that I still love snow kkk. We missed the afternoon tea. As usual, rest+ bath, dinner, play cards, watch CNN. We played the 叫名字 again.. and this time we didn't exchange names, but we had 水果, 明星名 and things in toilet. Shinyee lost the first round, I think that's because the mi hou tao (Kiwi) is too special for us and thus easier to remember. Then, guess what, first time shinyee wants to be called 叶子媚 XD XD XD!! Seriously couldn't stop laughing la that time..!! I can't even remember what the name she had after we laughed.. But of course, she lost again! : P Then we have toiletry, At night, Joce and I talked a bit before we slept, for a very long time, I never had a roommate, never laying there chatting with anyone before I sleep..

19th Dec foggy+heavy snow
The last day of skiing. No hot option for the breakfast today, but there was porridge with berries. We walked to the cable car station easily, with the boots but we were all used to it now! : ) We got up to the hill. Initially we planned to practice skiing ourselves but due to the heavy snow and fog we ended up playing snow, building very little snowman and 猴子抢球 using the snowman's body XD. Really enjoyed it to the fullest playing the snow, and taking photos with them. And we realized building a snowman is not that easy as we thought! So we made only a little one. Love the snow sooo much!! great experience too : ) Then we started our last skiing lesson. After practicing a bit, we got the opportunity to ski down the the middle station..!!!!!! It's really a long and smooth distance to ski down at, under heavy snow. The first time when we reached we had our lunch there, and due to the fact that we were the first batch of guests of the restaurant of this season, each of us got a free glass of brandy. Then we went up by cable car and skiied down again, and that came to the end of our skiing lesson.. : ( We took pictures with the coach and few others 'coursemates'. It's worth mentioning there was an English man who joinned us at 2nd or 3rd day, named Mark, who wore a different looking ski pants, and skiied very slow normally. I don't really like him to be frank, because he likes to go first (follow the coach's track first because we normally ski in a line), but then he skiied really slow and didn't normally follow the coach's track! So at the last day we had 2 missions- 1 to touch his ski pants to see whether it's really a pair of ski pants (as they look like grey colour jeans) 2 to kick him down hill.. XD we passed our first mission, nearly all of us touched his pants kind of 光明正大-ly when taking photos with him, and realized they are really pairs of ski pants, just with a .. different looking.. XD Whereas we didn't conduct our 2nd mission, as he fell down himself.. hahahahaha... so.. 放他一马 : P (Actually there were many more interesting people throughout the trip, e.g. 黑小明/小小明, Jack, 笑容小姐, 牛小弟 etc) After saying goodbye and all that, Jeff went to uphill to get our shoes while we moved all the stuff down first (we didnt want to miss the bus), although we ended up walking back with the super heavy ski, boots and pools too : ( Anyway, I like the ending of the ski lessons very much, because we got to ski the long journey, and according to hans peter, he thought there'd be problems with the Malaysians as we skipped one day lesson, but we were all fine! : ) nice nice : ) We missed the afternoon tea again because we had to return all the skiing stuff that evening. (Note: In fact we're allowed to return the stuff at any intersport shop, but we didn't know that!! Mark told us later on) Luckily it's not like the first day, we could now walk with the ski boots like wearing skippers : P Then we went for the sleigh ride. Awwwww the horses were freaking smelly, I'd really wish if there were snow dogs : ( The trip wasn't really worth (it costs us €15) as we had been to most of the places and there was just a river, but not an ice lake as told. Anyway it's still a nice experience for me, we can always have fun on our own. We walked around at the main street and then went back to have a rest, bath, dinner, and stayed at the bar for a while, there was actually Wii available. And.. that's it, we went back to pack our stuff ready for check out 10a.m. tomorrow.

20th Dec
Had our last very delicious English/American breakfast. We checked out and went to have a walk in the town again after everyone'd done packing. Bought some postcards, sent them, bought some souvenirs (Mozart's balls, magnet to bring back home for my collection). Took some photos as well. There were quite some big and small cute dogs on the street, love the snow very much! snowy trees, snowy umbrella, snowy roofs, snowy streets... And I started missing the ski boots already! Then we went to have a drink and rest for a while in the McDonald's. Went back to the hotel, played cards. The bus was supposed to leave on 1520, but it was delayed again due the the bad weather (Now, I quite like Malaysia's weather : P). Our flight was delayed, supposed to be 6.45pm, initially was delayed to 7.35pm, then later after we checked in, it had become 8.35pm -_-" The in flight meal was nice, perhaps that's because we were all hungry.. : P the muffin was really quite chocolaty. I missed home (the one in M'sia) quite much when the plane arrived in the UK : (. Then! the luggage wasn't 'arriving' and they made announcement saying they're now short of stuff -_-" and so guess what.. we missed the last bus back the Chel. : ( : ( : ( and we had to wait till 6a.m. the next day for the first bus. Ruby helped us to look for cabs but failed.. thanks for the effort anyway : ) Then we played Big 2 again, Shinyee and Joce slept first. Something funny happened, which could have changed our impressions of shinyee.. Hahahahahaha..!! I can't really describe what it is, but a picture is worth a thousand words.. So.. Let's see later on la.. : P Then all of us but Bpeng, slept for a while and got on to the bus at 6a.m...

That's the end! Although it's obviously not a very good ending, but I still love the trip very much!! One of the most enjoyable and wonderful trip!! Thanks to Bpeng, Jeffrey, Kian, Jocelyn and Shinyee for being such nice travel partners too! : ) I'd like to go skiing with them again!! Overall, I'd say the trip's worth the money, the views were fantastic, the hotel was good, the meals were generally all quite good, the staff are friendly, their service is just good enough.. and last thing, the thing that i mentioned the most after I came back, is that - Skiing is one of the things you must do before you die!! a must!! trust me.. you'd love it : ) : )

P.S. Spent about 3 hours to finish this post, and I'm going to keep updating it, and probably write more about my feelings and thoughts about the trip later on; if any of you think I've left anything out, just let me know k : )

I'm back!!

We are back from our skiing trip at Kitzbuhel, Tirol, Austria!!
No broken legs or hands, just lots bruise and muscle pain I guess.. ha!
Feel so strange after 8 days not online,
not seeing my laptop,
not coming to my room,
not laying on my bed,
not looking at high street, cheltenham
(especially the scenes without any snow..: P)
not typing using keyboard,
not showering in our bathroom,
not blogging,
not meeting the rest of the malaysians,
strange strange strange!!
everything just seems strange for me now..
But it's a great feeling coming back home
and, we had the most wonderful and awesome time in Austria...
I'm going to share as much as I could as soon as I can..
I have sooo much to share and to say, can't wait to look at the photos too : D
Now I've to unpack my stuff first..

P.S. Thanks to two of my sweet housemates, by slipping in x'mas cards under our doors to "welcome" us back, although they were still in their bed when we're back : )

Friday, December 12, 2008

It's tomorrow!

Tomorrow we all are going to ski already..!!
This time tomorrow I would be in Austria ..!!
to ski, to play with lots of snow!!!
Actually I'm not as excited as previously was.. Feel like a bit strange leaving my sweet bed, room and laptop la.. =/
Hahahaha.. I'm always like that
because last time (europe, we're coming) when we went to Italy and France I felt the same
Hopefully everything will be fine la
because those lecturers and people around are trying to scare us.. so bad!!
Previously when I asked my sis about the details
it already sounds a bit horrible, because she kept saying things like
"need to be... so that when you fall down won't...; can't be..., so that when you fall down won't.."
"Huh?? we will keep falling down one ar..." =/
Then that day we mentioned to Hazel and Dai (our lecturers),
they asked us not to have broken legs and arms back..!!
Dai said he hurt his thumb also.. =/
Doesn't it sound... horrible?
This morning I talked with my parents
I guess papa is a bit worried la..
Few years ago when I was at home and my sis went skiing in Canada
papa was worried too..
So I promised to be very careful : )
Anyway, they wouldn't scare me off
as so far whoever went skiing before, all love the experience sooo much!!
OK, will be back 8 days later..

Let's enjoy it to the fullest.. and.. wish us luck!! : )

Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

Aristotle (亚里斯多德): To actualize its potential.

Buddha: If you ask this question, you deny your own chicken-nature.

George W. Bush: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either with us or it is against us. There is no middle ground here.

Bill Clinton: I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What do you mean by chicken? Could you define chicken, please?

Darwin: Chickens, over great periods of time, have been naturally selected in such a way that they are now genetically dispositioned to cross roads. (Yea.. he's right!!)

Einstein: Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road moved beneath the chicken depends upon your frame of reference. (Hahaha.. I like this one)

Freud: The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road reveals your underlying sexual insecurity. (LOL... Freudian..)

Bill Gates: I have just released the new Chicken Office 2000, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. (this is rather silly)

Saddam Hussein: This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were quite justified in dropping 50 tons of nerve gas on it.

Carl Jung: The confluence of events in the cultural gestalt necessitated that individual chickens cross roads at this historical juncture, and therefore synchronicitously brought such occurrences into being.

Martin Luther King, Jr.: I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives called into question. (I like this..!!!)

B.F. Skinner: Because the external influences which had pervaded its sensorium from birth had caused it to develop in such a fashion that it would tend to cross roads, even while believing these actions to be of its own free will. (Behaviourism.. Hmm.. i dont like : P)

Wittgenstein: The possibility of "crossing" was encoded into the objects "chicken" and "road", and circumstances came into being which caused the actualization of this potential occurrence.

Molly Yard: It was a hen! (a feminist..)

Voltaire: I may not agree with what the chicken did, but I will defend to the death its right to do it.

MORE:
Why did the turkey cross the road?
Because it was the chicken's day off

Why did the dinosaur cross the road?
Because chickens weren't invented yet

Why did the duck cross the road?
To prove he's no chicken

Why DIDN'T the skeleton cross the road?
Because he had no guts (LMAO.. true!!)
Because he had no body to cross with him

Why did the chewing gum cross the road?
Because it was stuck to the chicken's feet
(I love this one!!! simple, logical yet ... hilarious!!!)

Well, I hope this does destress or entertain at least some of you.. especially those who never come to this "why did the chicken cross the road" joke riddles : D

awwww..

The previous post is just a sign,
of me finishing my assignment already!
and it doesn't mean anything in an implicit or any ways,
I'm not giving any hint about anything or anyone either.. ok?
Just searching my way of blogging ma.. it's just random..random.. see, I labelled it as random, not daily life.. okokok?

Don't know what happened just now, I was freaking moody la!!
Joce msn me about the secret santa game
and.. I was kind of.. ignorant.. =/
haih.. made me feel so bad later
(But, of course, we talked, and things get sorted : ))
then Felicia came to my room
Actually I'm still not sure what her purpose was..?!
Perhaps just to let me entertain her, or destress her a bit la..
so that she won't fall asleep in her sex and gender essay or sexuality resarch report..
I found myself much better then
guess what, I think I really need to keep talking with others to make sure my mood is fine, weird right?

The thing is, my essay is actually not done yet
But, I'm too far from the word limit -_-" (2450/2000)
I think I read too much, now... hmm.. the only means,
is to edit the margins.. so that it wouldn't seem to be too many pages -_-"
Hey Claire or Jess wouldn't be reading my blog right?!

Last thing, I think we are not going to travel around mid-europe
Haih.. actually we can stay in Salzburg from 20th, with my friends,
and next go to Vienna, spent our Christmas there, and visit Prague before we come back on 27th
it's all well planned now!! But.. we are not joining them
I feel sooo sorry to Kian and myself.. : (
we have been looking forward so much to this trip since our last trip to Italy and France 1.5 year ago..
WHY are we not going?
*long sigh* I think that's just too tiring and there is too much to do in the short break
and if we are really going, we have to get everything done before this Saturday
as we are leaving for Salzburg soon..
It doesn't seem worth to squeeze the trip in..
Vienna and Prague.. : ( they are so damn attractive la..
I hope I've made the right decision, we shall go in summer,
without Kian and PeiYing though : (
so now, Oxford? Alton Tower? Anyone??

Trust or Believe

Rush Hour

Have no idea why I've spent so much time doing just a 2000 word essay
and it is really exhausting
as you may find, I even gave up my blogging time : (
(I have seriously a lot to talk about..)
and the most important thing-
I've been sleeping just for 4-5 hours everday this week
(Sleeping is such an important thing for me in which it was the last thing I would sacrifice normally.. : P)
Haih.. hopefully it will be done by Tuesday
Perhaps we've spent too much time going out this week and had to work full time during weekends are the reasons..
I want one whole day lying there watching drama la.. please!!
Well, it's better to declare, I'm NOT showing off..
and.. hmm.. ya, can't believe this time next week I'll be in Austria already!!
I'm not in the mood yet.. not even a bit, WHY?

Victimology

In the Psychology and Crime lecture today,
Claire said that in the year of 1997, the risk of becoming a victim of crime in England and Wales is 33.3%, according to the British Crime Survey, which does the report annually
This means every 1 in 3 persons would have been a victim in the past year
It also represents that in 3 years time, we all will have at least been victimised once
(This is her interpretation, I don't really agree though)
What do you think?

my first thought:
It's now 2.5 year I'm in the England
so I'm supposed to be victimised in the rest half year lor, right?
Besides, if it was 33% in the England and Wales
Can you imagine what it would be like back in Malaysia???
I mean, for example la,
whenever you go mamak with a few friends,
there must be at least one person had their mobile stolen
at least one person experienced thief entered their house (mine was one)
at least one person had their car stolen etc etc
So I'm, sort of predicting how it is like in M'sia
Is it everyone will at least kena once every year?
(know what, when I was writing note during the lecture, I nearly wrote the word "kena" for so many times.. it's such a brilliant word invented by the Malays!)
Well, anyway
it is also very important to note that,
approximately 2%-3% of the population are actually the victims of 1/4-1/3 of the crimes
If you get what I mean,
it's actually some more vulnerable people who get repeat victimization..
Also, I just checked the Home Office site, the rate is now much lower
it's about 22% in the 2007-08, if you really have a bit of time
read the summary of the report, you may find some even interesting information
e.g. Men (age 16-24) were almost twice as likely as women to have been victims of violence..!

OK. anyway, today is the last lecture of the module Psy and Crime (Forensic Psychology)
which is one of the modules I've enjoyed the most
I've always convinced people around me that Psy and Law modules are always interesting
(they are also the only modules that I had to do pages of note in each lecture)
and whenever I was attending the lectures
I would be thinking sharing some information I've learnt that day in my blog
But.. hmmm.. I do so until it's now my last lecture!! =/ piece of shit ..

2008.12.01

It's the first day of the last month of the year
can't believe how fast time flies!
it's now nearly the end of the year of 2008.
There's 9 more days till the end of my assignment nightmare
11 days till I finish the first semester of my final year, unofficially
12 days till our Christmas break
12 days, too, till our SKIING holiday!
16 days till I turn 21.5
24 days till Santa Claus coming to town!
and 30 days till a brand new year - 2009!!

Just got the reply from the ski resort person and forwarded it to all of them,
and within half an hour got a reply from Jocelyn in both email and MSN
seems like she's really excited with the trip
and she spreads the excitement to me already..!!
Well, I hope everyone gets on well with their assignments
and then be ready to play hard during their Christmas break..
Take care people.. I think the weather is getting a bit crazy this year
We never had such cold weather in the previous two years =/
Perhaps it's a good practice for six of us, before we go to ski : D
